AURORA TURF NOTES f g AURORA, 111., May 1. Entries close today for the ,200 handicap to be run Saturday. The best horses at the course will be seen in action in this race. Jockey J. Leyland, who was called to St. Louis due to the illness of his wife, reported at the track today. Joseph McLennan, prominent racing secretary, was an arrival today and expects to remain for some time. J. H. Patterson arrived from Kentucky this morning with the three-year-old Ahlney S. Joe Hannie, former owner of War Buddy, was an arrival from New Orleans. He intends to purchase a few horses during the Aurora meeting. J. H. McCoole, who has been absent from the ranks of the owners for a few years, has gathered together a small stable, which he will race at Aurora. Twelve horses, the property of the Paradise Stock Farm, will arrive from Lexington on Sunday. Eleven head belonging to the same establishment are at present on the grounds. General manager Clifford R. Trimble has announced that ladies will be admitted free to Exposition Park every Monday and Friday during the meeting. Fred Crafton is in receipt of the stake blanks for Arlington Park.
