MASTER SAMOVEIl was prominent throughout and also finished well. BUNYORA raced wide on the stretch turn and lost many lengths, but finished fast. -PETER ItCFF set the pace, but tired in the last sixteenth. TIIEO. FAY tired after saving ground in i the stretch. BILL PHILLIPS, outrun early, moved up fast after going half the way and took a short lead in 1 the stretch, but was forced to a hard drive to hold SPANISH LAY safe. The latter, shut off on the e first turn, vent to the front on the back stretch and opened up a good lead, appeared to tire at mid-stretch, but, under hard riding, came again and just, missed winning. OMRAII was never far from the leaders and held on veil. AAIATOR raced into a contending position on the stretch turn, but swerved 1 and tired. MARENGO tired badly after setting the early pace. Won easily; second .and third the same. JACK HASKELL was well rated in the early stages and, saving ground on the stretch turn, got to the front to win in handy fashion. TADDYAVAWA raced well from the start, but went wide in the stretch and could not hold the winner safe. NORA D. acted badly at the barrier, but raced well. FILM was never a contender. FINNSTER came fast in the stretch tinder hard riding and, wearing down MINTCEL,- earned ths. decision in a driving finish. The latter passed FETCHING on the far turn and, after shutting the latter off, took a good lead and held on gamely in the final drive. FADDY raced close up and finished well. FETCHING went to the front soon after the start and, under a poorly judged ride, was hard held until passed by MINTCEL, lost several lengths when blocked by the latter and was never dangerous thereafter.
