LIBERTY LIMITED saved ground when moving on the far turn, careened into HEAVY SUGAR when entering the stretch, but recovered quickly and, racing into the lead on the outside, won easily. PRINCE ASCOT raced well and closed fast. INDIAN RUNNER showed good speed, saved ground, then tired. BARASHKOVA held a small early advantage under energetic riding and tired in the final drive. HEAVY SUGAR met interference on the stretch turn and was kept behind the leaders in the stretch. CHIMNEY SWEEP, away fast and showing speed, followed close to the pacemaker under restraint for the first half mile and, wearing down HOT SHOT under mild pressure, held WTLLA safe. The latter raced wide throughout and, never far back, wore down HOT SHOT at the end. The latter showed good speed, saved ground and tired after giving way to the winner. PORT HARLEM raced well and finished fast. AMYVALE, under hard urging when reaching the final three eighths, could not get up. GUN FIRE quit. ■ — i PDQQJ THIRD RACE— 5-8 Mile. The latter began fast, was much used racing JUDGE PRIMROSE into defeat and tired. TEXAS KNIGHT began sluggishly and closed with a rush. DOCTOR HAPPY tired. MASTER McGEE showed early speed. LADY BROADCAST closed ground in the stretch. BARRIDO forced the terrific pace under brisk urging and tired. TWENTY GRAND, much the best and slow to begin, was sent up slowly after a half, raced strongly on the outside at the second turn and, wearing down SWEEP ALL, drew away fast and won with speed in reserve. SWEEP ALL broke slowly, but saved ground working his way up fast in the first quarter, followed the leaders under restraint in the back stretch and raced into a good lead at the stretch turn, but could not withstand the rush of the winner, yet he was easily best of the others. MATE improved his position fast in the first quarter, saved ground at the second turn and failed to rally under vigorous driving in the stretch. SPANISH PLAY began slowly and closed with good courage. BOYS HOWDY began fast and finished well aft«r dropping back on the far turn. INSCO held on well. PITTSBURGHER began slowly, met early interference and was never a factor. LADDER quit badly after a mile. SCARLET BRIGADE lost ground on the first turn and, closing fast on the back stretch, held on well after taking the lead, but was no match for the winner. BUNCH OF LILIES improved her position gradually and was wearing down SCARLET BRIGADE. POLLY-* WOG had no mishaps. SARCASTIC was in close quarters repeatedly. DODGSON tired.
