t THORNCLIFFE TURF NOTES $ _ $ TORONTO, Ont., May 16. John Burttschell is here with the horses that the Flamingo Farms will campaign on the Canadian circuit this summer. A new outfit, racing here for the first time, is the Fox Chapel Stud, in charge of M. Henderson, the old time steeplechase jockey. Henderson was one of the leading Cross-country riders of his day, and is a first class horseman. He brought nine horses up from Maryland and seven of them are steeplechasers. The Fox Chapel Stud is the nom de course of Mr. Kauffman, a Pittsburgh millionaire, who recently went into racing. His string includes Hazan, Sardaneza, No Pal, Fichet, Acrobate, Olivier, yi. Gerolfee, Naughty Naughty and Liber- tine. M. Simms accompanied the stable and will ride what cross-country horses the stable may start. R. E. Potts, who is racing a public stable in Canada this summer, has taken over Ancoda and Tadfield for Mrs. C. Crane, in whose colors Butter John races. Before leaving Maryland Potts gave his old campaigner, Lieutenant H., to Mrs. F. Ambrose Clark, who will use him as a saddle horse. George Tappan is the latest arrival from New York and is quartered at Woodbine. He brought up a draft of the Belair Stud horses. Included in the lot were Frisius, Peto, Flaming and the two-year-old Faireno. Jockey Abel accompanied the stable.
