AMERICAN RACING MANUAL Has Unique Distinction of Being Only Book of Its Kind in World. Its Pages Studded With Information Concerning the Thoroughbred and Racing Obtainable Nowhere Else. The 1932 edition of The American Racing Manual is off the press larger, more complete, more comprehensive than ever before. Publication of this statistical resume of turf history is eagerly awaited by thousands of devotees of the thoroughbred who have learned that the demand for the Manual always exceeds the supply. The American Racing Manual has the unique distinction of being the only publication of its kind in the entire world. It is devoted exclusively to the thoroughbred and the running turf. Verily, it is a statistical history of each years racing on the-North American continent. Prior to 1906, this book was published under the title of "The American Sporting Manual" and embraced pugilistic, billiard and other records. There was no apparent demand for anything save that pertaining to the turf; so it was decided to devote the issue of 1906 and future years exclusively to racing. First published in 1898, this racing annual has been greatly enriched in the subject matter and its pages enhanced in value to all interested in thoroughbred breeding and the fascinating sport of racing. Truly, it is a mine of records, the wonder and admiration of all who, only even in a small way, realize the momentous task involved in the compilation of such a book. Among the many features are the rules of racing, which in themselves contain the definitions and interpretations of racing and things pertaining thereto, calculations of time, power of the stewards, officials of meetings, registry of horses, entries, subscriptions, declarations of forfeits and acceptances for races, produce races, partnership and assumed names, stakes, qualification, of starters and virtually everything concerning the horses, trainers, jockeys, the races and the method of conducting the same. If you are in doubt as to just how the many details of racing are carried out, the rules of racing will enlighten you, and because of their importance, they appear in the first part of the American Racing Manual. Immediately following are the diagrams and track records of American race tracks. They give much needed information about all the important courses, presenting in minute detail their pecularities, chutes, widths at different points, lengths of home stretches, as well as items frequently inquired about without an answer being easy offhand. As a matter of convenience, the diagrams of the tracks and their records, together with the best times at the various distances over which races were run the previous year, are printed on the opposite pages, their relation being evident at a glance. Continued on twenty-second page. AMERICAN RACING MANUAL Continued from first page. Other information of intrinsic value will be found, such as names of racing organizations and their officials, tables of comparative mile speed, track record speed, miles in better than 1:37, bookmaking percentage table, scales of weights, as well as the tabulated histories of the great races of America, England, France and Australia. An article, on. handicapping by an expert of the old school is as sound and practical as the day it was propounded. In connection are handicap tables and instructions for the proper use of same. These handicap tables are revised annually. The track speed and comparative speed tables fit into the figures of handicapping, the basis of which is time. Other tabulations contain information of great moment. A comprehensive explanation of pari-mutuel betting is included. The complete sales of yearlings, list of disqualifications, dead heats, jockey feats, great money-winning horses, thoroughbreds which have sold for large sums, the complete racing statistics of each year, in fact nothing of value to the thoroughbred and the sport of racing is omitted from the pages of this marvelous racing Manual, The American Racing Manual, the 1932 edition of which is now on sale. Everyone interested in racing should be an annual subscriber. No sportsmans library is complete without The American Racing Manual. Details as to price and where The American Racing Manual may be purchased will be found elsewhere in this edition of Daily Racing Form.
