FAVORS JUVENILES BY MARS First of Get of Young Stallion to Be Seen Under Colors During Coming Season. BERLIN, Md., Jan. 28. Walter M. Jeffords Mars, the eight-year-old stallion, has six two-year-olds here, of which much is expected by trainer Preston M. Burch. Two are colts, two are geldings and two are fillies. They are striking in appearance, and it is known that trainer Burch likes the get of Mars a mite better than he does the youngsters by Galetian, Golden Broom and Foxlaw in his care. Following are the two-year-olds, which Burch is training here for Jeffords: Gallic, b. c, by Galetian Gay Gold. Darthea, b. f, by Mars Quaker Lady. Flying Hour, ch. f, by Galetian Flying Flower. Ortheris, b. c, by Mars The Nurse. Porthos, b. g, by Mars Florence Webber. Bel Ora, ch. f, by Golden Broom Bell Agnes. Mohomet, ch. c, by Mars Exalted. Bravissima, ch. f, by Mars Glorymaid. Golden Ship, ch. f, by Golden Broom Lightship. Foxcraft, b. f, by Foxlaw Albus. Learoyd, b. g, by Mars Violet Mahoney. In addition to these juveniles Burch is i " " i making ready the following older horses at the modern plant near here: Aegis, b. g, 4, by American Flag Florence Webber. Ironclad, ch. g, 4, by Man o War Violet Mahoney Slaveship, blk. c, 3, by Black Toney Lightship. Boatswain, b. h, 34 by Man o War Baton. Golden Gate, ch. g, 3, by Golden Broom Glorymaid. Deverish, b. g, 3, by Mars Tripping. Gloria Maris, ch. f, 3, by Mars Painted Lady. Horatia, ch. f, 3, by Man o War Etoile dOr. Trainer Burch also has twenty-one horses in training at historic Benning, near Washington. Among the best known of this string are Admiral Cary T. Graysons Happy, Scot, Foxcatcher Farms White Clover It. and Frigate Bird, Kilrane Stables Diane de Poitiers, three parts sister to Sir Gallahad HI., and his own Tambour and General Lejeune. Burch has several two-year-olds at Benning by The Porter, The Satrap, Dunlin and Wilderness.
