I LEXINGTON TURF NOTES John S. Wiggins, jovial master of the Military Stock Farm in Bourbon County, was very well pleased with the results of the second race at Hialeah Park Tuesday. The winner, Jesemola, by Boot to Boot Ethel Vale, bred by Mr. Wiggins, is the lirst of the get of the American Derby winner Boot to Boot to race. The young sire which stands at the Mntary Farm, has a promising crop to represent him this season. Chance Play, one of the greatest sons of the dead thoroughbred stallion Fair Play, has made a good beginning in his career as a sire. The first of his get to go to the post won her first start. The winner was Miss Careful, which captured the two-year-olds race at Hialeah Park Monday of this week. Thomas Piatt has suffered the loss of Espionage, bay filly 3, by Bunting Allivan. She slipped and fell in a field at the farm, breaking one of her hind legs between the ankle and the hock and had to be destroyed. She was insured for part value. It was reported that William Woodard would be in the stand at the half-mile track at Chicago next summer. He said today that the work had been offered to him, but he declined it. J. J. Graddy of this city, also has been asked to serve. Hon. Leslie Combs and his son Brownell are back at Belair,. their home near Lexington. Mr. Combs, the elder, has been visiting his daughter in the East after a sojourn for fishing at Crystal River, Fla., and the younger man has been on a hunting trip in Alabama. Michael Beary, noted Irish jockey, who has been riding in England under contract to the Aga Khan, arrived in Lexington Sunday afternoon and remained until Tuesday evening. He visited the principal breeding establishments. He sails for borne on the Majestic January 29. Xhomas W. Murphyt former trainer for the Greentree Stable, the man who was Twenty Grands first trainer, arrived in Lexington last night to spend several days. He came with Henry Oliver of Pittsburgh and Lexington, owner, of Poplar. Hill Farm.
