f LEXINGTON TURF NOTES t! r : . 4 E. P. Applegate has given up his lease on Kempland Farm, and his nine mares and three yearlings have been transferred to a farm near Louisville. Jack Bryan, formerly of Lexington, has resigned as manager of Homeland Farm, Mid-dleburg, Va., and is now at Audley Farnj Berryville, Va. Leo J. Marks has nominated Miscalculate three-year-old chestnut colt by Upset Royal Mint, for the Preakness Stakes. He will run in the name of Le Mar Stock Farm. At J. W. Parrishs farm at Midway, Ky.i today the noted mare Mary Belle, dam of Rolled Stockings and others, foaled a bay filly by Imp. Epinard. At Arthur B. Hancocks Claiborne Stud4 Paris, Ky., this morning, William Woodwards Filomar foaled a bay filly by Imp, Sir Gallahad III. At the same farm T. W. Du?ants Hurry Back II. foaled a dark bay colt by Broadway Jones. Nine mares arrived here Saturday morning from John D. Hertz Leona Farm, Cary, 111., to be mated with stallions standing in central Kentucky. The following six went to Arthur B. Hancocks Claiborne Stud: Flora Mary, Golden Heels, Tweet Tweet, In Bounds, Pan of Roses and Adine. The following three went to Roy Carruth-ers Sycamore Farm: Kashmir, Straw and Say No. The car will return tomorrow, taking several mares to Leona Farm to be mated with Reigh Count. Among them will be Arthora, Naylor and Captress, the property of John D. Hertz; Nellie Morse and Peter Polly, owned by Warren Wright, and Fly By Day and Ethel Dear, owned by Albert D. Lasker of Chicago. Victor Emanuel will send one mare from Old Hickory Farm, and the others will be sent from Claiborne Stud. The stallion Brown Prince II. and five mares and three yearlings, the property of W. H. Lipscomb of Washington, D. C, have been shipped by John S. Barbee from his Glen Helen Stud, Lexington, to Mr. Lipscombs Raspberry Plains Farm, Leesburgj Va. The mares are Georgia Rose, Cinemaj Duration, Sagacity and Theodora. The yearlings are chestnut filly by High Time i Duration, brown filly by Sir Gallahad TTT.-j Theodora, and bay filly by North Star UX Georgia Rose. C. J. Fitzgerald, who will be presiding steward at the Fair Grounds, left Wednesday by train for New Orleans after having been here since Sunday. A
