ILLINOIS MAY ADOPT RULE From reliable sources information was obtained which makes it appear certain the Illinois Turf Association license committee, scheduled to meet during the latter part of this month, will adopt the Eastern, or "open claiming rule," now in effect on New York, Maryland and the Fair Grounds track at New Orleans. All Illinois officials interviewed on the matter indorsed the rule unanimously. The resolution for the change will be introduced, probably, by Roy Carruthers, general manager of the Arlington Park Jockey Club.
