REX HANDICAP HEADLINER Lucky Tom Asked to Concede Weight to Rivals in Fair Grounds Feature Race. NEW ORLEANS, La., Feb. 5. Lucky Tom, unbeaten here this season and the champion three-year-old of the winter to date, will be seen in another effort when he attempts to add the Rex Handicap, the Saturday fea tiire at the Fair Grounds, to his string of victories. In this three-quarters race the J. J. Robinson star will carry top weight of 126 pounds, conceding from ten to twenty-four pounds to his rivals, including such of the other outstanding ones in this division as Springsteel, Bertjohn, Sazerac, Texas i Knight and others, not to pverlock Renaissance, also from the Robinson stable. Lucky Tom may fail to come through victoriously. Renaissance and Springsteel are asked to carry 116 pounds each, while Sazerac is in at 115 pounds and Bertjohn and Texas Knight at 114 pounds each. Sarietta, R. A. Fairbairns filly, is scheduled to make her local debut-in the Rex Handicap and should prove a contender. The Louisiana-Mississippi Chamber of Commerce Purse and Momus Purse will furnish the chief sport in support of the stake feature. In the former, Wotan, Playtime, Spanish Play, Broad Meadows and Sil-verdale are to meet, while Weideleen, Angry, Fiddler, Babble, Justinian, Supreme Sweet, Elizabeth Bolla and Abdel clash in the sprint.
