CHANGE IN CLAIMING RULE NEW ORLEANS, -La., Feb. 6. An important change in the claiming race regulations as adopted by the Louisiana Jockey Club Thursday, was announced today by racing Secretary Joseph McLennan. This change, a departure from the eastern or open rule, privileged a horseman, who reclaims a horse lost through the claiming procedure, to race him without waiting thirty or sixty days as under the Maryland and New York rules. The revised regulation dealing with this point now reads as follows: "No horse claimed out of a claiming race shall be eligible to start in any race in the name or interest of the original owner for thirty days, unless claimed out of a claiming race, nor shall such horse remain in the same stable, or under the care or management of its former owner or trainer, or any one connected therewith."
