AMERICAN IS WINNER Special Cablegram EINGFIELD PARK, England, Feb. 8. The Troytown Handicap Steeplechase, at three miles, was won here Saturday by.M. D. Blairs Prince Cherry. H. B. Grants Near East was second, and Capt. J. W. Bridges Vinicole was third. There were seven other starters. Prince Cherry was 10 to 1 in the betting. The Troytown is considered an in- dex to the Grand National, which will be run at Aintree, Liverpool, March 18, and several candidates for this greatest of all cross-country contests competed in the event, Prince Cherry, Near East and Vinicole among them. The first named two are light weights in the Grand National, Prince, Cherrys impost being the minimum burden of 147 pounds, while Near Easts weight is 150 pounds. Vinicole is handicapped at 157 pounds. Prince Cherry is owned by an American.
