MISS CAREFUL reached the lead with a rush on the inside in the first sixteenth, quickly drew clear and, maintaining good speed to the end, won handily. JUSTICE LOGAN began fast, raced wide entering the Stretch and, shaking off CRUCIAL TEST, outlasted NITUMA. The latter, in close quarters early, failed to get through between JUSTICE LOGAN and CRUCIAL TEST near the final eighth and, coming to the outside after being taken back, closed fast. CRUCIAL TEST, a factor from the start, tired. CONQUEST dropped back slightly after an eighth and was going strong in the closing stages. ALMADELE and LONESOME GLORY began slowly. GOLDEN LIGHT, given a hustling ride, showed speed, saved ground and, while no match for the winner, held on fairly well. ESCOBA LAND, a factor throughout, withstood the drive gamely and was going resolutely in the final stages. COUSIN JUDY saved ground, but could not get up. RITA ANN had no mishaps. MORSNUFF, undocstrong restraint the first half mile, worked his way to the front on the inside in the stretch, was no match for the winner, but held on determinedly. HONEYMAN, a factor from the start, weakened badly after five-eighths, but outstayed GLIDELIA. The latter had speed from the start, but was on the outside throughout and weakened badly. ST. JIM was in tight quarters in the stretch. MARJORY NELL and J. GEORGE had early speed.
