COMMON, in close attendance of the leader all the way, responded courageously under strone handling, but was unable to get up. THE GEN, steadied off the leaders and saving ground the entire trip! faltered in the final eighth, but outlasted PASS IN REVIEW when it came to a drive. MAEANTIC, away forwardly, showed good speed, but swerved across the track approaching the three-sixteenths-mile post and, causing a jam, steadily drew clear thereafter and won in hand. WHITE THORN broke well and, responding gamely under intermittent punishment, finished fast, but never threatened the winner. BOLILEE, slow to find his stride, - gradually improved his position on the outside and wore WANDEROO down in the last twenty yards. WANDEROO, quickest to find his stride, displayed good speed in the early stages, but tired in the stretch run. SERGEANT HILL suffered interference. BENEDICT suffered most -from the crowding. LION HEARTED, rated flff the pace for three-quarters closed stoutly when called on and outlasted BILL SOUTHAM in the stretch run. BILL SOUTHAM, going forwardly under vigorous handling, held on with good courage in the final drive. WRACK ROYAL lacked early speed, but finished strongly. DOUBLE HEART improved his position steadily when called on, but faltered when it came to the drive. JAMISON stole through on the inside entering the stretch and wore the tiring CLAREMONT down in the last seventy yards. The latter, used up racing BACCIOCCO into defeat, tired in the stretch. The latter moved forward rapidly after entering the back stretch and forced a fast pace, shook off MY DANDY in the stretch run, but could not withstand the winners bid. ULUNIU, taken back off the early pace, finished stoutly through the stretch and outlasted ISLAM. The latter was sore going to the post, lacked early speed, but finished strongly under punishment.
