SHIPS HERTZ HORSES EAST Thirty-Five Thoroughbreds Leave Cary Illinois for Belmont Park Under Care of Trainer Knapp. Three carloads of horses, embracing thirty-five thoroughbreds, the property of Mrs. John Hertz, Warren Wright, Herbert Bayard Swope and Morris Vehon, were shipped from Cary, 111., Monday, to Belmont Park, Long Island, where they will arrive today. Louis Feustal, who developed Man o War, will take over the six two-year-olds owned by Vehon, who formerly raced a small stable under the alias of Royal Stable, while William Knapp will continue the preparation of the Hertz, Swope and Wright thoroughbreds. All of the horses have wintered at Leona Farm, and have been under saddle outdoors for several weeks, due to the unusually mild weather. They departed in fine condition and are ready to begin their speed trials soon after their arrival at the New York track. The large shipment was accompanied by trainer Knapp, jockey Earl Steffen and Frank S. Hackett, who manages the stables of the four owners. The most important of the Hertz horses are Valenciennes, Risque, Pairbypair, French Duchess and Seven Veils, while thirteen of the twenty-four thoroughbreds that will sport the silks made famous by Reigh Count and Anita Peabody are two-year-olds, sired by Last Reveille, Fair Wind, High Time, Stefan the Great, Black Servant, American Flag, Chatterton, Messenger and Asterus. The first of Reigh Counts get will not be of racing age until next season. 4
