FASHION STAKES TO CABEZO AGUA CALIENTE, Mexico, Feb. 29. Cabezo, son of Garlaris, demonstrated some of the speed of his sire in winning the Fashion Stakes, feature race on a lengthy program at Agua Caliente Sunday afternoon. Flashing to the front in the early stages and opening up a long lead, he reminded one of the greatest horses that ever raced below the border, but in the stretch run he was not so impressive and barely lasted to win by a nose from the greatly improved three-year-old Durango. Third money went to Seths Hope, another outsider, while Marine was fourth, and Dr. Freeland, the favorite, last in the field of six.
