MARIE JEAN, away fast and steadied along under light restraint for a quarter, sprinted into decisive command quickly on the stretch turn and, maintaining good speed to the end, won easily. WILKS moved up slightly on the stretch turn, raced evenly thereafter and wore down FIELD GOAL in the final strides. The latter showed speed from the start, held the lead briefly near the stretch and tired in the final drive. THREAT had no mishaps. SWEEPRUSH began fast and raced green. FAIR ROCHESTER lost much ground all the way. POLLY CRACKER, fractious at the post but away fast, quit badly after showing speed for three-eighths. ETIWANDA, a factor throughout, held on fairly well. PAT C. tired after five-eighths. CHARLIE BERGIN had no mishaps. LOVE OFFERING dropped out of it after a half mile. HOPEFIELD lost ground.
