INAUGURAL AT BAINBRIDGE CLEVELAND, Ohio, May 21.— Silver Cord, carrying the colors of Mrs. H. S. Hart, and capably ridden by jockey K. Horvath, was the winner of the ,500 Inaugural Handicap, fifth and featured race of the initial days racing at Bainbridge Park this afternoon. The Le Mar Stock Farms Madwind and W. E. Caskeys Mynheer divided the minor portions of the purse. The six furlongs were traversed in 1:12%, and Silver Cord won by a nose in a thrilling finish. Somewhat of a sensation was created when Easter Boy and Busy Ven, the respective winners of the second and third races, consti tuting the daily double, paid ,883.60 for the usual investment. Indicative carried the Sagamore Stables colors to a decisive victory in the initial dash. He opened up an easy lead shortly after the start and increased his advantage as the race progressed, winning with much to spare. Deja raced in closest pursuit of the winner throughout, retaining a safe margin over the others. Sky High was always in third position. As the start came Eternal Girl wheeled and was left, but galloped after the others. Arrivals at Bainbridge Park this week included Frank Kearns, with fifteen; J. H. Stotler, six; Jones and Keating, six, and Ray Bryson, six. Accompanying the shipments were jockeys A. Pryor and W. Nertney.
