| WASHINGTON PARK NOTES $ Sewell Coombs, member of the Kentucky State Racing Commission, came up from Lexington to see his filly, Nituma, run in the Debutante Stakes. Among those in a large delegation from Kentucky that took in the sport were H. R. Petty, sheriff of Jefferson County; Brent Overstreet, and Albert Charlton. Des Dressen, who had charge of the option department at Tanforan, was an arrival. He will hold an official position at Arlington Park. Jockey C. E. Allen, one of Americas leading riders, has severed his connections with the stable of Herbert M. Woolf, Kansas City turfman. No reason was given. H. C. McConnell was an arrival and announced that he is shipping Quibbler and two others from his Iowa ranch to Washington Park. Quibbler, which has been doing stud duty, served eight mares last fall. Lady Broadcast and Open Go Shut have been added to the stewards barred list because of their recent bad behavior at the post. G. A. Marshall got in with the sprinters Golden State and Shannon Rose, while W. H. Travis arrived with Clean Play, Suspicious and four others. Suntica, which will carry W. S. Kilmers colors in the Illinois Oaks Saturday, was on the track this morning and went the mile and an eighth distance of the race in 1:57, handily. She traveled in the following fractions: : 49%, 1:16,* 1:43 Ms and 1:57. Trainer Whyte was well pleased with the move. Evening, probable favorite for the Illinois Oaks, will arrive at Washington Park Wednesday. Jockey L. McAtee has been engaged to ride the filly in Saturdays race and will get in the latter part of the week. Jockey Willie Moran, a former favorite on Chicago tracks, had his first mount of the meeting when he rode Sundot in the fifth race. A total of ninety-nine riders are registered with Bill Owens, who is in charge of the Washington Park jockey quarters. Charles McLennan was a visitor in the interests of Arlington Park. Stakes at the Northwest Side park close Wednesday. Jockey Willie Johns, former riding star on Chicago tracks, applied for a license this morning. Jockeys L. McDermott, L. Pichon and W. Garner returned from Indianapolis, where they went to witness the auto races. The largest fields of the meeting will take part in the races Wednesday. In all 228 entries were accepted this morning and a total of 102 horses were excluded.
