WASHINGTON PARK NOTES William E. Smith, president of the Standard Oil Company of Kentucky, and vice chairman of the Kentucky State Racing Commission, and Brent Overstreet, both of Louisville, are on hand for the American Derby. Arthur B. Krock, formerly of Louisville, and for some years political writer for the New York Times, and his staff, will attend the American Derby. Mrs. Phil Reuter, wife of the well known horseman, has concluded health treatments at Battle Creek and will rejoin her husband here. Graham B. Brown, hotel and lumber oper-ator of Louisville, and owner of a stable of horses racing here, augmented the big band of prominent Kehtuckians here for the Derby. Jockey O. Clelland suffered a badly i bruised foot when Spring Flight struck the inner rail yesterday and was unable to ride today. . Harry Morrissey, starter at several of the Chicago tracks and at Tanforan, is considering an offer to serve in a like capacity at Agua Caliente during the coming -winter meeting, opening Christmas day.
