" GALLANT KNIGHT ELIGIBLE LATONIA, Ky., June 17. Bernard B. Jones Gallant Knight is one of the thirty-one eligibles for the twenty-second renewal of the Independence Handicap that will be decided at Latonia, Monday, July 4. The winner of this years renewal of the Dixie Handicap and now training for the Peabody Memorial Handicap, is one of three that the owner of the Audley Farm Stable made eligible for the gallop of one mile and one furlong, with an added value of ,000. The Choctaw and Knights Call, which recently won at Washington Park, are the others named by the Virginia breeder. The Audley Farm colors have played a prominent part in renewals of the Independence Handicap. Princess Doreen won the 1925 and 1927 renewals and finished second to Rothermel in 1926. Easter Stockings was. second to Jean Val-jean in 1930.
