FOGGY DEW, hard urged from the start, withstood keen contention from OPTICAL until reaching the stretch and, shaken up, drew out steadily thereafter. OPTICAL, a factor for half a mile, tired fast in the final three-eighths. HAYLOFT worked his way up on the inside in the final stages and closed resolutely. JUG, OF GOLD was unable to make up ground in the stretch. AIRDROME raced in the deeper footing all the way. "NIPIGON tired badly. CROSSBONES tired after moving up entering the stretch, but caused a jam when he crossed over sharply leaving the back stretch and was disqualified from fourth money.
