SOUNDER YEARLING MARKET Forty-Five Youngsters Sold Under , Hammer for Total of 6,340. !- Brookmcade Stable Pays Top Price of ,300 for Colt by Stimulus Sea Dream in Marshall Field Consignment. SARATOGA SPRINGS, N. Y.. Aug. 18. The yearling market took a turn upward at the Wednesday evening sale of yearlings, under the auspices of the Fasig-Tipton Company, held at their Union Avenue paddocks. The youngsters came from the nurseries of Marshall Field, Charles Nuckols, Pioneer Point Farm, J. C. Carrick, L. A. Moseley, Poplar Hill Farm, J. L. Tarleton, W. L. Goodwin, S. D. Riddle and E. K. Thomas. Forty-five youngsters were disposed of for a total of 6,340, or an average of 08. The Marshall Field youngsters were the first ones led into the ring, and eleven head were offered. This marked the first time that this sportsman had ever offered any of his yearlings at public sale. Eleven head were disposed of for a total of 0,150, or an average of ,832. The first youngster led in realized ,000, and the Calumet Farm of Warren Wright was the buyer. This miss is by Stimulus, from Affection, and a half sister to the winners Escutcheon, Flat Iron, Emotion, Sanford and others. During the course of the evening the Brookmeade Stable was a frequent bidder and secured several likely looking lots. They paid the top price of the vendue when they secured for ,300 out of the Marshall Field sale a chestnut colt by Stimulus, from imported Sea Dream, which was a stake winner in England. Bidding on this fellow was brisk throughout. Frederick Johnson, who has been more or less unactive for the past year, pair ,200 -for a bay colt by imported Sir Gallahad HI., from Minima, a brother to the winner Lady Minnie. Threatening weather prevailed, but the choice lots offered attracted brisk bidding, while the undesirable ones were more or less neglected. The crowd was well up to the usual proportions.
