The latter challenged midway of the turn, but tired. ESPINETTA, caught in close quarters early, got up with a rush, then tired. NEW SUN, pinched back earlv, came through after an eighth and closed fast. TIGER CAT showed early speed. ELECTRIC GAFF quit. CONTRIBUTE, away fast and rated close up, went around the tiring m leaders and finished with a rush. PROTRACTOR had a lot taken out of him racing with VISHNU. The latter showed early speed, but tired. HYMAN was gaining fast after being outrun early. AVALON could not reach the leaders. STOCK MARKET had no mishaps. BETTY FARRELL showed early speed. CRAZY JANE, buffeted about early, came through midway of tho turn, bore over on MUSLET near the last eighth post, responded gamely and was wearing down the winner. MUSLET forced a fast early pace. SPEED BOAT worked her way up on the outside. HAPPY ANNE came again after dropping back midway of the turn. ILLUSIVE showed a dull performance. WASHOUT showed early speed. JOLLY PILOT, away clearly and hustled into a brief lead, was kept under pressure from the start, continued resolutely for the final test and stuck it out gamely. NIGHT PATROL, crowded back going to the first turn, fell far out of contention, moved up in the final three-eighths and, coming through on the inside, was going the fastest at the end. RACCOON, a stout factor the entire trip, fought it out willingly under a strong drive. MARCASITE closed with good energy. SUNVIR was used up chasing JOLLY PILOT and tired.
