FOR BREEDERS FUTURITY The Darb, Caterwaul and Other Stars From East Reach Latonia for Saturdays Race. LATONIA, Ky., Oct. 12. C. V. Whitneys The Darb and Caterwaul, H. P, Headleys Technique and Liqueur and W. R. Coes Old Baldy, all candidates for the rich Breeders Futurity, to be renewed here Saturday, reached Latonia from Maryland at an early hour this morning. The crack Whitney pair came in charge of young Jack Healey and Benjamin Creech, chief of the Coe staff of trainers, came along to supervise the final preparation and saddling of Old Baldy. The Headley pair were unloaded under the direction of their owner, who came up from his Beaumont Farm to look after them. Misguide, Leo J. Marks representative for the race, the first stake of the meeting, is due in early tomorrow from Laurel. Borne by such a brilliant pair, the Whitney silks are almost certain to rule favorite and if either triumphs, it will mark the second victory for their popular colors in successive runnings of the .fixture, which is decided at 170 feet less than three-quarters. "Sonny" Workman will have his choice of the mounts and Gilbert Elston may ride the other Whitney colt. Old Baldy, substiuting for the crack Ladysman, will be ridden by R. Jones and H. Elston is coming from Maryland to guide Technique. Owner Headley brought Liqueur along as a reserve Candida -j and if his filly companion comes up to the race in good style, will not get a chance at the prize. With only twelve starters the race will have a gross value of 4,085.
