CREE, badly buffeted about going to the first turn and taken to the outside, closed fast. EPIDAWN, a factor from the start, raced the early leaders into defeat, but tired near the end. SIR KENDAL, bumped and impeded on the first turn, finished gamely. CHLOEDAIR tired. PRIVA was outrun. CLEAR KNIGHT and GOLDEN ROCK quit. BROWN PET, hustled into contention and kept on the outside for room, swerved to the inside at the final eighth post, knocked LA SALLE off stride, but responded stoutly and outlasted HOME WORK. The latter, in close quarters on the inside throughout, came through on the stretch turn, took the lead, but tired right at the end. LA SALLE, a factor from the start, was racing srongly when blocked by BROWN PET in the stretch, but recovered and outlasted PRIMEVAL. The latter worked his way up in the stretch after being blocked midway of the last turn, then finished gamely. VANDAL tired, as did FAYLIN. Scratched 76131 Maladeen, 106. CAESARS GHOST, saving ground early, moved up resolutely after half a mile and, continuing gamely, outlasted WAR STRIPES in the last eighth. WAR STRIPES came through on the inside of DUNAIR on the turn, wore down POMPOLEON and held on gamely. POMPOLEON, hard ridden to shake off ARROW-SWIFT, tired in the last quarter. NOSE IN could not get up. BERTRANO raced wide until the stretch was reached, then gained. ARROWSWIFT was used up chasing POMPOLEON. DUNAIR showed speed for half a mile. UNFAIR tired.
