FELRAP, rushed hard going to the first turn to assume the lead, was steadied in front while saving ground, responded stoutly under strong pressure and outstayed JUDGE JUDY. The latter, prominent and strongly handled after being given a breathing spell, responded to punishment and fought it out gamely. GALA TIME forced a stiff pace all the way and finished in resolute fashion. RESERVIST, shuffled back going to the first turn, was unable to reach the leaders thereafter. POMPOSITY was eased back when entering the back stretch and was held safe. FAIR CREST suffered interference going to the first turn. The others were never factors. INLANDER, kept forwardly placed, was in tight quarters when reaching the far turn, secured racing room midway of the turn and, coming through on the inside when UNION bore out, withstood a stout drive gamely to get up in the closing sixteenth mile. UNION, forced wide at the first turn, disposed of ELECTRIC GAFF, but bore out badly, carrying EVEN STEPHEN out at the stretch .turn and he weakened under punishment. EVEN STEPHEN made a strong effort when approaching the stretch, was forced wide and tired in the final drive. ONCE, blocked midway of the back stretch, closed with good courage when securing racing room. ELECTRIC GAFF had no excuses. VOTE had a rough trip. POMPOSO lacked early speed. MICROPHONE had no excuses under strong handling. OKAPI was making up ground steadily in the final quarter mile. The others were outrun. NOTEBOOK, sent into a forward position and avoiding interference, was mildly restrained until reaching the far turn, wore down ISEULT and held SWIVEL safe. SWIVEL, forced extremely wide at the first turn, moved into contention with good speed, but lost much ground at the stretch turn and held on with rare courage. WELCOME GIFT weaved her way into a forward position and finished stoutly when saving ground entering the stretch. ISEULT, clear of early interference, set a good pace and was going-gamely after being displaced. BRIGHT SHADOW moved to the leaders with a rush, but faltered after reaching a forward position. EASY DAY was outrun. BARN SWALLOW raced wide for the entire journey. VOLETTE tired. BAY AGNES had speed for three-quarters. TECHNIQUE had a rough trip. GALLANT SIR, going into contention on his own courage, disposed of REHOBOTH without effort when straightened into the back stretch, opened up a good lead and outstayed MAD FRUMP when the latter tired suddenly inside the final eighth. MAD FRUMP, reserved early, moved around his field when put to pressure, gained command at the final eighth-pole, but quit suddenly after taking command smoothly. LATE DATE, saving ground the entire trip, held on well tit the end. CANRON, put to a drive in the last half mile, was making up ground approaching the finish. REHOBOTH weakened early. GULLY JUMPER,-trailing off the leaders, closed full of tun when saving ground at the stretch turn. SYRIAC weakened in the last quarter mile.
