Start good and slow. Won driving; second and third easily. BROTHER CARR, moved up stoutly after the start, responded to pressure in the stretch run and outlasted MODERN ACE in the. last strides. The latter made a determined bid in the stretch run and finished going strong on the outside. PANTALOONS slipped through on the inside turning for home, moved up stoutly, but hung at the finish. VESTED POWER moved into command entering the stretch, but tired. MINT DRIFT broke fast, showed speed and had no excuses. CHINA BIRD raced well throughout. The latter improved his position steadily, finished with s rush through the stretch and was wearing the winner down. THE HEATHEN, on the outside of the leaders at the turns, went wide entering the stretch and came again. CLAREMONT came through on the inside turning for home. SUN MISSION, on the outside of APPRENTICE all the way, came around the leaders entering the stretch and finished gamely. CABEZO broke in a tangle, moved up fast rounding the first turn forced the pace all the way, disposed of FREDRICK and then hung. The latter improved her position steadily, was blocked rounding the stretch turn and, forced to come outside, finished fastest of all. CHIPPER moved up with a rush at the far turn and had no excuses.
