WHITNEY YEARLING AUCTION Noted New York Breeder to Dispose of Sixteen Youngsters. Vendue to Be Held at Lexington Sales Paddock on November 14 Many Sires Represented. NEW YORK, N. Y., Oct. 22. For the first time in turf history, the Whitney farm, how the property of C. V. Whitney, will offer, at auction, part of its yearling crop. The lot, sixteen in number, will be sold at the Lexington sales paddock on the evening of November 14, under the management of E. J. Tranter. This season the C. V. Whitney stable again heads the winning stables to date. That honor was held by the same stable in 1930 and 1931, by the H. P. Whitney stable in 1929 and in three of the five preceding years. 1927, 1926 and 1924. The yearlings to be sold are as follows: Bay colt, by Brown Bud Bridesmaid winner and dam of the stakes winner Best Man, sister to the stake winner Alois, by Chicle. Bay filly, by Upset Balance dam of the stake winners Flippant and Hornpipe, and half-sister to the stake winners Distraction and Blondin and to Swinging, dam of Equipoise, by Rabelais.
