MISS HUTCHESON was crowded hack on the turn and closed a gap when clear. KELSO had a rough race and can do better. SOUTHLAND BELLE raced evenly. SEMESTER, knocked back on the first turn, could not improve his position. MAGIC MAID showed speed for half a mile. WOLVERINE took the lead at the start, saved ground on the turns, but tired when put to a drive. SPOT POT saved ground on the turns, but could not menace the leaders. ZODE closed a gap from a slow start. SHIFT raced evenly. JACK BIENER had no mishaps and raced poorly. The others were never contenders. ALTENA, away forwardly, raced wide coming out of the first turn, was hard urged and was gaining on the winner. ALBANE saved ground and closed well. STAR BALLOT, crowded over shortly after the stait, saved ground on the turns and closed well. NAWAB, FARMER BOB and COPIAN were eliminated shortly after the start when STAR BALLOT bore over sharply, almost unseating the rider on FARMER BOB. Scratched — Technocracy, 108. Won driving; second and third the same. HOOPS, away poorly, worked his way up on the outside, moved over on the last turn, causing a jam, but saved ground in the stretch and won in a drive. MARTIE FLYNN, sluggish at the start, was well ridden while working his way up, was crowded back on the second turn and closed well when clear. SCREAM took a short lead after five eighths, but tired. BARASHKOVA led for half a mile, then tired. EISENBERG raced with the leaders and tired after going half a mile. SUN MEMORY stumbled on the first turn and did not recover.
