WOODBINE TURF NOTES ] 4__ 4 Gene Bury, racing official at Oriental Park and various other tracks, came up from Baltimore to witness the running of the Kings Plate. The Geneseo Stable wired cancelling their stalls at Woodbine. Seven members of the string being sick, it was necessary to forego the meeting at the Ontario Jockey Club course. Trainer Ft. V. Boyle is confident that the horses will be well again in a few days and will ship to Thorncliffe. George Hay distributed condition books for the Long Branch meeting among horsemen. The minimum purse during the meeting will be 00, while there are two ,500 handicaps. Aerial Trumpet, Jeanne Wachs and Paul T., the property of J. Rector, arrived at Woodbine from Aurora in charge of Curley Lock. Willis Sharpe Kilmer, master of Sun Briar Court, accompanied by Mrs. Kilmer, arrived at Woodbine to witness the performance of Gift Roman and Polly Regret in the sixth race. Jim Healy, Sr., who has a division of the Mrs. Ambrose F. Clark string at Woodbine, spent a busy time in the paddock renewing old acquaintances. Mr. Healy is the father of J. W. Healy, trainer of the John Hay Whitney establishment. Steeplechase jockey E. J. Ball arrived from Maryland and is attached to the stable of L. H. Drennan. F. Home came up from Jamaica to pilot Juniam in the Kings Plate. He left immediately after the running for New York to report back to his employers, the Buxton Brothers. Tommy McCarthys Broadway Lights was jammed into the fence soon after the start of the second race Saturday. He suffered slight injuries, but is expected to be able to start in his engagement Monday. ■
