YTFIN, away fast and close to the pacemaker under mild restraint on the turn, quickly wore down CHAGRIN and, drawing clear, withstood SICLETTE. The latter made up ground in the first quarter, was brought out on the stretch turn and closed well under strong riding. FIRE STAR, a strong factor throughout, had to race wide and tired in the closing eighth. FRETFUL could not get up. CHAGRIN showed speed, saved ground and tired badly in the stretch. KISSIE, well up from the start, had to lose some ground and withstood strong urging gamely. DROLE POLLY was under strong riding after a quarter and tired in the final eighth. DAME MARIECHEN, quick to get going, tired badly in the closing three-sixteenths. SOCIAL SERVICE had no mishaps. MAMIE D. began slowly and lacked her usual speed. ALPERS, improved, drew into command after reaching the turn and, maintaining his speed gamely, held BLACKSTRAP safe without need of punishment. The latter, given a poorly judged ride, failed in repeated attempts to get through on the. inside in the first three-eighths and was inclined to bear in when holding on well in the drive. MOORISH AMULET lost ground and "held on fairly well. BATTLING ON closed boldly. BARASHKOVA began fast and showed speed for half a mile. UFORME did not threaten. LAMP BLACK, allowed to drop out of it, was weakly ridden and raced wide in the closing three-eighths. POLLYS FOLLY, sharply cut off by CAPTAIN LOGAN in the first quarter, was poorly handled thereafter. SUN THORN dropped out of it on the turn and, badly outrun thereafter, showed dull form. RESISTING moved up gradually after reaching the second turn, easily disposed of FOXLAND HALL and came away fast in the final eighth, but had little in reserve. FOXLAND HALL, taken into the lead, was under energetic riding after reaching the final half mile and weakened badly in the final eighth, but outstayed BANTU. The latter began slowly, raced wide in the final half mile and closed stoutly. SWEET CHARIOT quit. OUR JUSTICE broke in a tangle. The latter, slow to get going and far back for three-quarters, saved much ground in the stretch and was overtaking the winner. DUNES, rated along for seven eighths, challenged gamely, but was not good enough. BEAUTY SECRET,-, far back for seven-eighths, closed a gap with a rush on the outside, but tired in the last stages.
