LOWENSTEINS DETROIT BAND Nineteen in String of Noted Trainer at Fair Grounds Steady Stream of Arrivals for Long Meeting Meetingat at Motor City Track Which WhichOpens Opens May 17 DETROIT Mich May 12 Nineteen two yearolds and nine older horses comprise the Le Mar Stock Farm Stable that arrived from Lexington Ernie Hart a brother of the trainer and former jockey came along with the shipment Six of the youngsters are the progeny of Misstep the 1928 Fair mount Derby winner and later a stake per ¬ former under the Le Mar colors The horses are Margaff Marfree Maretion Marbite Mardromel My Man Mouth Piece Maroon Morsel Morsom Moonson My Miss Flying Girl Mocker Matar My Premier Morenmore Harpavitch Monemie Marmara My Laff Madam Merrily Merrily Yours Melody Lane and My Poney PoneyThe The horses Joe Chinn brought from Lex ¬ ington for E R Plunkett and his own ac ¬ count are I Pass Noelwood Genteel Joe Quidam Swepen and Grand Bell In the same car C W Moore brought three older horses and five twoyearolds twoyearoldsR R E Potts is training seven twoyearolds and three seasoned performers for the Bo mar Stable of Charles Bohn and P A Markey The ten arrived from Maryland Thursday and in the same car C Limerick brought Aunt Flo and Bright Beauty for J F Sweeney The Bomar Stable horses are Valeem Billy Bee Gold Sweep Lucky Bill Rettemar Elwite Chinese Indian Scotch Pepper Saunter and Unencumbered UnencumberedT T L Dory Pierce checked in from Lex ¬ ington with six horses They are My Gen ¬ tleman Lady Aberdeen Uncle Fred Maude G Red Forage and a twoyearold daughter of Cherokee CherokeeThe The four horses Gilbert Riley brought from Douglas Park Louisville are Incan ¬ descent Bartering Kate Master All and North Mill MillJ J M Tex Reed vanned the plater Watch Tower over from Kenilworth KenilworthWalter Walter Ridenour has the older Lanier and Light Echo and the twoyearold Valentrie to carry his colors during the Detroit sea ¬ son Ridenour came from Lexington In addition to five others he is training for Captain E C Fleming Dr G Copeland is training the Chileanbred Napal for the Eastern sportsman Napal will make his North American debut during the approach ¬ ing meeting meetingWith With the veteran Charley Landolt and H Callahan to do his major saddle work Mose Lowenstein plans on starting a Detroit youngster on his way to jockey fame The lad is Robert Morris who entered Lowen steins employ during the inaugural meet ¬ ing here last fell According to Lowenstein Morris is an apt pupil and predicts a great future for the youngster youngsterA A A Baroni who shipped his stable here at the close of the Arlington Downs meet ¬ ing took up the Illinois Oaks winner Bam boula Calome and Clear since arriving here They wintered at Stuyvesant Peabodys Arrow Brook Farm at Lemont Illinois Baroni who recently sold the contract he held on Wayne Wright has hopes that ap ¬ prentice M Peters will turn out to be an ¬ other sensation Baroni purchased the lads contract at Arlington Downs and while awaiting the opening of the Detroit season the lad piloted several winners at Kenil ¬ worth Park ParkJockey Jockey Willie Carroll came from Lexing ¬ ton with the C W Moore stable J B Theall and Harry Unna notified Detroit offi ¬ cials they were shipping here fror Texas Saturday SaturdayE E L Fitzgerald trainer of the Norman W Church stable who left Louisville Wed ¬ nesday for Pimlico with Riskulus owner Churchs Preakness candidate notified the Detroit officials that the seven horses he left at Churchill Downs would be shipped here Sunday Trainer Fitzgerald has arranged to transfer Riskulus from Pimlico here on Sun ¬ day dayJ J Fred Adams wired that he was sending fifteen horses here Monday and Frank Gar rett is due to arrive from Maryland with nine at the same time timeIn In addition to trainers and jockeys all valets grooms exercise boys platers and veterinarians must be licensed by the Mich ¬ igan Racing Commission CommissionJockey Jockey agents and stable agents are also subjected to licenses and while the fee for the latter is only 100 a jockey agent fee is 500 Trainers and jockeys will pay 500 if they procure their papers before June 1 and 1500 afterwards In the cvont that one desires to make a claim and is not licensed as a trainer or has horses racing at Detroit he or she must secure an open claiming license The applications must be approved by the racing commission before the applicant can claim a horse
