Blue Again fourth Quasimodo and Judge Leer com ¬ pleted the fast field fieldNEVER NEVER IN DANGER DANGERDrawing Drawing far away from the others in the first quarter and making good speed there ¬ after the Mars filly was never in danger winning with something in reserve In the stubborn contest between Cactus Rose Sickle Pear and Blue Again the latter ap ¬ peared to have the worst of some crowding for which Cactus Rose which bore over forcing Sickle Pear over on the Bradley colt was to blame blameThe The winner ridden by Leslie Pichon car ¬ ried 115 pounds which required her to give weight to all of her four opponents and raced the distance in 112 which time might have been improved upon had she been pressed She paid 4 to 5 5J J E Wideners Belle Grier whose first effort last favoriteSouthland Southland Stables Very Wise a son of Wise Counsellor finished in front in the Elizabethtown Purse the regular daily race for maiden twoyearolds and second on the program He began fast and missing the crowding that developed soon after the start was well on his way when his rivals were straightened out In the stretch Bubbling Mate made a bold effort to reach the South ¬ land colt and but for being forced back when the winner swerved closing an open ¬ ing next to the rail in the last sixteenth might have been more troublesome As it was he went down by one length and a half taking second by four lengths over Temple ton which narrowly outfinished Listening ListeningIn In the midst of the crowding Ross which ran such a sparkling race in his debut one week ago was so severely shaken up that he flatly refused to extend himself when clear He was the choice choiceAn An accident probably the result of rough riding marred the third race in which Chim ¬ ney Sweep finished in front defeating Ridge Blond Spring Station and Nituma among others George Smith astride the third choice March King was the victim of the accident suffering painful injuries when brushed from the saddle before the field had gone the opening sixteenth of the three quarters The young rider fell between fly ¬ ing feet and Fairly Wild just missed step ¬ ping on him himChimney Chimney
