PLATERS MONOPOLIZE CARD Four of Seven Races at Fairmount Over Sprint Distances Cool Weather Results in Good Attendance Attendanceat at Popular Collinsvllle Course Six Sixin in Feature Race COLLINSVILLE 111 June 15 Platers again had the card to themselves at Fair mount Park this afternoon with four of the races over sprint routes The feature was the Hotel Belleville Purse in which nine threeyearolds and over met in the fifth race at one mile and a sixteenth Much sup ¬ port was shown for Bob Weidel winner of his last two races here as well as Wild Dreams also successful in his last two f forts Who Win winner of his last race over a sprint and a double winner at the meeting was also well played playedNora Nora D after rolling up three straight victories at Beulah Park only to have her streak broken on a heavy track in her first race here was another well backed one Others making up the field were Belen Mokan Bright Wine Enigmatic and Bari ¬ tone toneThe The weather was clear with a medium temperature prevailing which brought an ¬ other large crowd to the course for the seven races programmed programmedThe The first race resulted in a surprise vic ¬ tory for Mrs F Randos fouryearold Whit harral when he took the purse in a driving finish over Val J the favorite by a head Chilla Lee was five lengths back of the leaders leadersD D Edwards had the mount oh the winner and followed Val J easily for fiveeighths When the favorite showed signs of tiring in the last furlongs Edwards took his mount to the outside of the leader and standing a long drive gamely got up in the last few strides Chilla Lee held on long enough to stall off Marcella Agnes for third by a half length lengthTwodollar Twodollar winning tickets on Whitharral paid his backers 11808 to win 4772 to place and the show price was 1376 1376Twelve Twelve fillies and mares met in the sec ¬ ond race atfive and a half furlongs and the winner was produced by J C James in Gala pan with the outsider Fountain second and Tocaya third thirdL L Haas rode the winner and had the daughter of Galetian away fast After dis ¬ posing of Thelma L in the first quarter the winner was forced to shake off Foun ¬ tain which held on gamely for four fur ¬ longs In the stretch drive Fountain be ¬ gan to tire and the winner came away to a length lead at the end Fountain was easily best of ofsTocaya sTocaya having a length and a half advantage while Tocaya saved third by five lengths Aurica the evenmoney choice was a disappointment failing to show speed during the five and a half fur ¬ longs dash
