DOME FOR GILLEffl STABLE STABLESweep Sweep Like Accounts for Cleveland ClevelandPlain Plain Dealer Handicap at atBainbridge Bainbridge Park CLEVELAND Ohio June 8 Mrs J C Gillems Sweep Like scored his second suc ¬ cess of the present Bainbridge Park meet ¬ ing and the second victory of the afternoon for his stable when he accounted for the Cleveland Plain Dealer Handicap feature race of the halfholiday card R W Hoff ¬ mans Captain Joy raced to second place with Clang finishing in advance of the others othersSweep Sweep Like followed the pace of Sun Dora until well into the stretch then assumed command when a sixteenth out but at the end the son of Sweep was hard pressed to retain a head advantage over Captain Joy which finished strongly next to the inner rail during the run home Clang raced into third place after going half the distance and secured the minor award handily after Sun Dora gave way wayJockey Jockey R Tilden made it a double when he piloted Joseph Cattarinichs good colt Outremont to a decisive victory in the Gus Van Handicap a five furlongs dash for juve ¬ niles Lady Pharamond was always in clos ¬ est pursuit of the winner and handily with ¬ stood the final bid of Gloria Mercedes for the second honors The races were contested over a heavy track and this was responsible for numerous withdrawals The cloudy weather failed to stop the halfholiday turn ¬ out which swelled the attendance to the largest of the week The racing provided was decidedly interesting and formful formfulTaking Taking command at once Mayreen out ¬ ran her company at all stages of the second race but jockey J Dyer was forced to resort to the whip during the closing stages to withstand a fast closing bid from Don Pablo Occult the favorite flattered her backers by racing close up in second posi ¬ tion until midway of the stretch but even ¬ tually finished a tiring third After displacing San Gaff from the lead while rounding the turn for home Idle wild held her field safe thereafter in the third race Closing with a rush next the inner rail during the stretch test Easy Bid headed San Gaff for second during the last few strides
