I DUFFERIN PARK NOTES Jockey J Passero was fined 25 by the stewards for cutting across soon after the start of the sixth race Tuesday in which he rode the winner Timon for Arthur Brent BrentGeorge George Alexandra trainer of the J E Smallman stable was notified by long dis ¬ tance telephone that Thomas Smallman son of J E Smallman who races a large string on Canadian and American tracks was drowned in one of the lakes close to the Muskolca district in Ontario The unfor ¬ tunate accident took place Wednesday morn ¬ ing according to information received here hereLloyd Lloyd Gentry and W H Bringloe are in charge of divisions of that establishment
