BOSCOBEL WINS AT TORONTO Good Ride by Young1 Plays Part in inVictory Victory of Leslie Racer Racerat at Dufferin TORONTO Ont June 19 Platers of the cheaper grade furnished the contention of the best race on the Wednesday program at Dufferin Park for the fourth day of the spring meeting and Boscobel racing for R R Leslie turned up winner for her second triumph of the season Opposed by five others after the field was reduced to a half dozen starters by the withdrawal of Exhi ¬ bition and Muckle Do Boscobel received a masterly ride from jockey Young who was astride Miss Gormley winner of Tuesdays feature and his riding contributed largely to the success of the veteran sixyearold mare mareChasing Chasing the winner to the conclusion of the journey after trailing the others for the better part of the trip came W Garde ¬ ners Prince Dunroyal to suffer defeat by little more than a length Third was ac ¬ counted for by A J Halliwells Le Bruyere and his margin over Mayfair Stables See mego was just a head as they led Fanny and Rock Crest the only other starters startersBoscobel Boscobel in her previous race at the local course showed little in that effort but there was some excuse when she was caught in a jam before she could gain racing stride In her endeavor today the daughter of Sir Greysteel met with no interference and Young was content to rate the mare back of Seemego Fanny and Le Bruyere as they went out in that order and closely lapped to set the pace After going five furlongs Young swung to the outside with the Leslie miss readily approached the fighting lead ¬ ers then under a strong drive through the stretch after gaining command met the rush of Prince Dunroyal DunroyalRacing Racing was again conducted over a track that was fetlock deep in mud which fol ¬ lowed terrific rains during the night and early morning and only the sturdier type performers were able to traverse the hold ¬ ing footing Several withdrawals were made but fortunately the racing as provided proved spirited for the large gathering that accepted the sport
