HARPER, much the best, followed in close pursuit for three eighths, took command with ease and drew out gradually. TIGER CLAW, kept well up under mild pressure, came through on the rail and was up for second place in the final strides. LADY HAZEL, never far back and under mild reserve, gained gradually when clear and closed gamely. PUN, taken in hand for three quarters, improved his position when urged. ENIZ raced well. CLIVE had no excuse. PRINCE DEAN was outrun. GNNONNIC raced poorly. BRIGHT ROSE displayed smart improvement over her last race, raced MISS VISE into defeat, then held on gamely to outfinish JAKE BLIEDEN. The latter, taken in hand early, responded gamely to stron? riding, but could not overhaul the winner. FLUTTER UP, slow to attain her best stride, finished resolutely under pressure. FLIGHLETTE closed a good gap in the stretch. PARADE STEP went evenly without mishap. REAL JAM, rank at the post, delayed the start, then failed to reach contention. CAPTAIN HENRY and MISS WISE quit. BIDDY, probably best, was away slowly, closed a good gap and finished strongly. CAPT. NADI weakened. INSULATED went well under a hustling ride. LITTLE MINNIE quit. AGENT raced greenly. MISS GREENOCK displayed keen speed setting the pace, then held on with good courage while submitting to the winner. GEO. GABLE, a strong factor throughout, followed in close pursuit under mild reserve, responded gamely to punishment, but faltered in the final strides. SOUTHERN WAY went well under a hustling ride. MAH GRANT, close up from the start, offered strong contention when punished, had the winner in close quarters in the stretch ad submitted in the final strides. JANE RACHEL, rushed to the lead at once, sat a good pace to the final eighth, then faltered and could not withstand the first two. ONALARK had no excuse. CERRO was gaining rapidly approaching the stretch, then raced extremelv wide. MAH GRANT delayed the start. Scratched— 10271 Insomnia, *102. The latter, closest to the pace throughout, offered strong contention in the stretch, feet was not good enough. PEEDEEQUE dropped out of contention after the start, gained steadily after ra.-*ig a half mile and closed strongly. PRINCE VIC could not keep up. BATTLING GIRL raced well.
