BOLD VENTURE FOR CMlC -M Kentucky Derby and Preakness Winner to Be Entered for Stake. M. L. Schwartz CrackColt to Ei deavor to Duplicate Feats of Gallant Fo.v and Omaha In Triple Victory. Bold Venture will seek to duplicate the feats of Gallant Fox and Omaha and become the third horse to add the Arlington Classic to victories in the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes, according to present plans of Morton L. Schwartz, owner and breeder of the courageous son of St. Germans. Max Hirsch, trainer of Bold Venture, has informed -the Arlington Park management that the colt would be nominated for the Classic, and after his engagement in the Belmont Stakes would be" pointed for" Jtber local mile and one-quarter attraction, the added money for which is 0,000. Classic nominations will cfpse June 15, along with entries for the Arlington, Stars and Stripes and Inaugural Handicaps and the Hyde Park Stakes. Gallant Fox and Omaha also won the Belmont Stakes, but it was necessary for them to turn back their rivals in the Classic toibe established the three-year-old champions of their respective seasons. While Bold Venture is unbeaten, he; is yet to be named the title-holder, and may .riot be until the Classic renewal, regardless of what he does in the Belmont. The Schwartz colors of white with brown cross sashes and brown cap were borne to victory in the. Classic in 1932 by Gusto, which turned back Stepenfetchit, Evergold, Top Flight, Faireno and other star members of the division after he had gained Chicago fame in annexing the American Derby. Bold Venture himself is no stranger to Arlington Park, having raced twice there last summer, but with no success, his invasion being attended by hard luck. In his first trip to the post the colt tripped over the outside railing and suffered several cuts, but he was able to come back within a few days and display the fastest workout of any candidate for the Arlington Futurity. In the Futurity Bold. Venture broke away while at the post and unseated his rider,, running away for three-quarters of a mile, and as a consequence, he was unable to do justice to himself and to his supporters in the race. Later in the season, while in the East, the St. Germans, colt met with other mishaps and illness, but despite all the trouble he encountered as a youngster, Bold Venture has demonstrated this year beyond all doubt that he is a hardy and courageous fighter. In a majority of its seven runnings the Classic has been called upon to establish the three-year-old champion, even though Gallant Fox came up to it unbeaten and Omaha had accounted for the Kentucky Derby, Preakness arid Belmont Stakes. The race settled definitely the superiority of Cavalcade and Blue Larkspur and served to clarify the situation in the renewals won by Mate, Gusto and Inlander.
