STAR CLUSTER took command at once, responded to light urging when disposing of HEARTY and won easily. The latter, under strong handling throughout, tired in the last stages, but held JAY BEE JAY safe. The latter, unable to keep up early, was forced wide entering the stretch, improved his position fast when straightened and finished strongly. LITTLE WICHITA, rushed into contention early and forced wide at the far turn, came to the inside for the drive and tired. BROADWAY GIRL, away very slowly and outrun for a half mile, made up ground thereafter. GAUL failed to improve his position under strong urging. DENBIGH tired after improving his position. LORD DALTON, suddenly improved and unable to keep up early, responded fast after reaching the stretch, took command in the last sixteenth and won drawing away. PELORIA, under light urging for a half mile, wore COURTNEYS PET down in the final eighth, failed to withstand the winner, but held on well. PHOTOGRAPHY, rushed into the lead in the first few strides, was unable to hold the lead and gave way entering the stretch, but came again in the last stages. COURTNEYS PET sprinted into a long lead early, but tired rapidly in the last eighth. HANDSOME JOHN improved his position steadily and held on well. WESTERN RUN had no mishaps. IMPERIAL PLAY quit. MORRIS 11., fractious at the start, began from outside of the stalls, came over sharply during the run to the lower turn, forged to the front after a quarter, drew away under good urging, was put to stronger pressure in the stretch and held SOME BOY safe. The latter worked his way forward steadily, moved up fast in the stretch and was wearing the winner down at the end. SILENT DON, away slowly, rushed into the lead early, gave way to the winner, swerved repeatedly under weak handling and tired. HOPTOIT made up ground. BLACK FLASH, outrun for five-eighths, responded fast thereafter and closed with a rush. SNAP-LOCK quit after reaching contention. BROADWAY WILD tired. GENERAL MARTIN quit. SARAHMOND, away well but unable to improve its early position, was steered to the outside entering the stretch, was inclined to bear out in the last stages, but got up in the last strides. CHINESE EMPRESS took command under hustling tactics, was forced wide at the far turn, was sent to the inside for the drive and finished stroncest. ALL DEVIL, away very slowly and outrun for a half mile, was sent through the field for the drive and closed with a rush. ALBUQUERQUE, a strong factor from the start, forged to the front on the outside of the field in the stretch, but tired in the last stages. WHITE GINGER raced evenly. MOANE KEALA began from outside of the stalls and made up ground. COMMUNIST, shuffled back at the far turn, came again in the stretch. LITTLE ARGO raced wide.
