MEREWORTH STUD FARM FIRE LEXINGTON, Ky., May 25. The residence of Dr. R. H. Bardwell, manager of Mere-worth Stud Farm, near Lexington, was burned early this morning. Dr. Bardwell, his wife, two children and two guests and a Negro cook, who discovered the fire and awakened the others, narrowly escaped death. Nothing was saved. The house, owned by Judge Edwin C. Grear of Frankfort, who last year bought the farm from the Pettit family, was value at 5,000. The furniture in the house, antiques valued at 0,000, belonged to Walter J. Salmon of New York, master of Mercworth Stud and lessee of the farm.
