CEALLAIGH raced in closest pursuit of the leader throughout, but was never a serious threat. KAIMASK lost some ground, racing wide into the stretch. HAZEL EYE had no mishaps. The latter dropped back after setting the pace for a half mile, then came again and was getting to the winner at the end. SORCERY made up ground on the outside and Finished strongly. GOLpEN X. showed a good effort. OURAY tired. BLACK RIVER sulked and dropped out of it after showing speed for a quarter. The latter held a slight lead for most of the way and held on gamely. HOWARD G. raced prominently throughout. TIMBERLINE began slowly and made up some eround. GREY COUNT began sluggishly, gained rapidly on the outside and was up in the last few strides to overhaul HIGH POLISH. The latter, well up from the start, took the lead on reaching the final quarter and held on gamely. SPRING FLOOD had no mishaps. GALLANT EAGLE made tip some ground and showed a good effort. TEDALL tired. NELLIE Mc displayed good early speed, ran out badly approaching the stretch, turn, then ducked to the rail. Photographs were used to decide first, second and third horses. NAVANOD, taken back repeatedly until reaching the final quarter where he took command quickly, held on with fine courage under his impost and appeared to have something left. MISS VINCE forced the early pace under light restraint, but with a big loss of ground, slowly wore DANDY JAY down when approaching the stretch and tired after losing the lead, but withstood POMPOSITYS challenge. The latter, badly outrun early and forced to lose ground, was under strong urging in the last three-eighths and closed resolutely. DANDY JAY, on the inside throughout, displayed good speed, but tired in the. stretch. WILD TURKEY moved up on the stretch turn, but hung in the final drive. NAVAL CADET held on well.
