MERRY PEGGY, away with the leaders, was hard hustled throughout, opened up a good lead quickly and, under clever handling, held ATINA safe. The latter, never far back, responded readily to hard urging, but was not good enough to menace the winner. SWEEPING DAME broke fast, displayed high speed for a quarter, then held on gamely, though tiring. SHEBANG raced prominently throughout. MOORES GIFT had no mishaps. SWING CORNERS tired. LEVI COOKE made up ground. MY AUNTIE could not keep up and showed a dull effort. JAY D. tired after a half mile. ZORANA was never a contender. Won driving; second and third the same. CRISTATE, well up from the start, responded well to hard urging and wore down MISS PREMIER in the last seventy yards. The latter was rushed into a big early lead, responded to hard urging when challenged, but was unable to withstand the winner. TEDDY HASLAM lost ground throughout and showed a good effort. PROFESSOR PAUL finished with a rush. JUST FRANK tired. AUNT MYRTLE was much used trying to keep up with the pace. FAIRSICKLE refused to extend herself. The latter, away slowly, lacked early speed, but improved his position after a half mile and was wearing down the winner. MISINFORMATION began slowly, raced wide and closed with a rush. SPEY FOX showed good speed for three-quarters while setting the pace and tired thereafter. BLIND HOPE had no mishaps. TROUBADORA had speed for a half mile and was eased in the stretch.
