HARVEY WOODRUFF IN HOSPITAL LOUISVILLE Ky May 8 Harvey Wood ¬ ruff of the Chicago Tribune missed his first Derby in twentyfive years He is ill in the Evanston hospital in his home city of Evanston 111 Mr Woodruff was one of the first outoftown newspapermen ever as ¬ signed to cover a Kentucky Derby For years he was sports editor of the Tribune and in late years has been the conductor of The Wake of the News columns in the Tribune Before joining the Tribune staff he was secretary of the old Western Jockey Club
