PROVIDENCE HANDICAP TODAY Ten Out of Forty Eligibles Named NamedOvernight Overnight for Narragansett Stake Rudie Assigned Top Weight PAWTUCKET R I May 11 The Provi ¬ dence Handicap for threeyearolds has been billed as the topline attraction at Walter E OHaras track tomorrow afternoon The Providence attracted forty nominations of which the names passed through Pat Hor gans entry box overnight The ten entered represent nine different interests as Mrs Virginia Wyse the Texas sportswoman has named a pair in Eastport and Gallant Eagle The first mentioned was winner of the Ar ¬ kansas Derby at Hot Springs early this spring while Gallant Eagle has failed to live up to expectations thus far farThe The top weight of the field is William H Gallaghers Rudie The Reigh Count colt has been penalized with 120 pounds two more than Brookmeades Drudgery a win ¬ ner this spring during the Jamaica meeting Eastport and Sweepalot come next in the handicap with 112 pounds each The latter is one of the better colts stabled in the Dixi ana barn The Sweep All colt turned a mile in 142 for his final prep for the race and was under a strong pull the final three sixteenths sixteenthsPrince Prince Sador a colt that raced with better than average success in this section last year will bear the colors of Mrs F Lange bartels Pharloch a newcomer to New Eng ¬ land will flaunt the banner of Mrs V R Hopper The remainder of the field includes Eddie H James N and Trina of which none could be accorded better than an outside chance
