HAWTHORNESTAKES ATTRACTi President Chas Krutckoff Delighted i iWith With Response of Horsemen Receives Assurance at Louisville From Own ¬ ers of Prominent Stables They Will Race at Cicero Course Charles Krutckoff president and general manager of the Hawthorne race track re ¬ turned from Louisville where he attended the Derby and distributed a number of the stake books of the Hawthorne meeting which opens Labor Day DayHe He expressed himself as delighted with the reception he received from the horse ¬ men and particularly from the representa ¬ tives and owners of the pretentious Chicago stables which have been accustomed to rac ¬ ing in the East during the fall He received personal assurances from nearly all of them that they would race at Hawthorne during its fall session sessionOn On his return a meeting of the executive committee of the Chicago Business Mens Racing Association was held and the offi ¬ cials for the meeting practically determined upon While they will not be made public out of deference to the state racing com ¬ mission until that body has approved them it is practically certain that Julius Reeder will return as racing secretary and G R Buddy Wingfield as starter starterJoseph Joseph A Murphy a member of the execu ¬ tive committee left for Detroit where he will take up his duties as director of racing of the Detroit Racing Association He and the other members of the executive com ¬ mittee passed a resolution that when the officials have been appointed and approved by the racing commission they shall be immune from the influence of any officer or director directorThe The racing secretary will be instructed to listen attentively to any suggestions from horsemen but that requests for races of any kind will not be accepted acceptedJudge Judge Murphy announced before leaving for Detroit that he had purchased the homp of Frederick J Tahl in Coral Gables Fla and would set up ahome there
