TEXAS SESSION CUT SHORT Few on Hand at Legislatures Public PublicHearing Hearing on Racing Repeal RepealMeasure Measure Before Solons AUSTIN Texas May 29 Although the house and senate met in a special session for only a short time today then adjourned until Monday both swung instantly into ac ¬ tion on the racing repeal measures measuresThis This afternoon the same house committee which reported the Bradbury bill favorably at the last session was to hold a public hear ¬ ing on repeal but there was so little notice that few were on hand to be heard pro or con A favorable report on outright repeal was expected expectedIn In the senate the original Nelson bill for repeal was introduced and after the repeal ists had lost a move to refer it to thecommit tee of the whole senate it was referred by the president pro tern to the criminal jurispru ¬ dence committee This committee returned a favorable report on the same bill last ses ¬ sion Its sessions are generally held on Tues ¬ day although consideration next Tuesday may be postponed the chairman said Anti repealists appeared to be well satisfied with the results of the first skirmishes
