HOPE DIAMOND, away slowly and forced wide when improving her position, responded to strong "urging after reaching the stretch and forged to the front in the last stages to win drawing away. . ALL SPADES sprinted into a clear lead early, saved ground throughout and was put to strong urging when threatened, but failed to last. DRUSELDA, hustled from the start, tired near the finish. MY WOMAN, in. close quarters soon after the start, was forced wide entering the stretch, but showed little when clear. DONGY was outrun. GENEVRA M. worked her way up through the field, was taken to the inside approaching the stretch and lacked racing room thereafter. GARDEN POOL, a strong factor from the start and on the outside, lost ground at the stretch turn and tired in the last stages. BESS B. came from well back and showed a splendid effort. FAIR SO tired. MAID OF CHANCE raced wide early and finished strongly. BARBARA S. began slowly, was outrun for a half mile, but made up ground in the drive. BOJANGLES raced wide and failed to keep up. MODEL MARY, hustled to the front, gave way to the winner and tired in the last stages. SIS LOTTIE, rushed into contention, failed to menace the leaders, but held on well. DONA MONTEZ raced wide early and showed a good effort. STAR BOARDER came from far back on the outside. YALE O NINE was outrun. SHAWANA had early speed. QUICK QUICK was outrun. MISS DOLPHIN began slowest of all and, hemmed in at the far turn, was taken to the outside for racing room and finished strongly. ARABS ARROW lacked racing room for five sixteenths, but came fast when clear and worked out a mile in 1:40. SILVERETTE tired. ODDESA GIRL showed early speed. KINGS HEIR was outrun. The latter, never far back and on the outside early, was blocked when attempting to get through on the inside at the far turn, came back to the outside and improved his position rapidly in the drive, but hung in the last stages. GANGPLANK, fractious and away slowest of all, was outrun to the stretch, but made up ground thereafter. LASSATOR, used up in the pacemaking, gave way after relinquishing the lead. SARD, lacking early speed as usual, saved ground in the early stages, moved up steadily on the outside and finished well. GREAT SMOKE raced evenly throughout. SEVEN STAR showed a dull effort.
