T M DORSE1T AT ODDSON Proves Decidedly Superior to Rivals in Featured Castle Hill Purse Romps Away From Opponents to Beat Johns JohnsHeir Heir by Three Lengths With Our OurMat Mat In Third Place YONKERS N Y Oct 19 T M Dorsett shortest priced favorite of the Empire City meeting at the almost unbettable odds of 2 to 7 proved decidedly superior to the half dozen juveniles assembled for the running of the Castle Hill Purse The son of Cohort and Michigan Girl was only airing as he traveled that distance in 109 under top weight of 117 pounds poundsAt At the finish he was three lengths in ad ¬ vance of Johns Heir with Our Mat five lengths farther away as he saved third money from Metamorphosis by a scant halflength It was the second straight for Joe W Browns juvenile and the fourth victory in fifteen chances The score came in the best race on a program which again was marked by a close observation of form and witnessed by another excellent offday crowd perfect weather continuing to stimu ¬ late the attendance It was the second of the afternoon for the vetern Buddy Haas as he had piloted Ocean Roll to a hardearned triumph two races earlier HAAS EASY TASK TASKHaas Haas had an easy task on T M Dorsett only being forced to drive him in the first furlongs to gain a clear lead over the others Rounding the turn the New Orleansowned colt went along in hand to widen it to a threelength advantage at the top of the stretch Through the final straightaway it was only necessary to hold him to a true path as Haas bobbed his head from right to left looking back for a challenge which never developed developedJohns Johns Heir was vastly superior to the other contestants moving into second place in the first furlong and remaining there for the rest of the trip Yarberry had him un ¬ der intermittent punishment through the last threeeighths of a mile but could not cut down T M Dorsetts lead However his mount had no opposition for the place Our Mat galloped along in third place for practically the entire journey and outlasted Metamorphosis in the final furlong drive The latter does not appear to be in good form Modern Age was outmatched and the same holds true for Michigan Flyer The latter was coupled with the winner but few gave him a chance T M Dorsett would have been just as short a price running alone aloneDRIVING DRIVING FINISH FINISHIn In a driving finish with Haas plainly out ¬ riding Yarberry Mrs R Mozers Ocean Roll earned a close decision over Benjamin Deutchs Cobe and Idle Elf finished rather a distant third before Ritorno After the fin ¬ ish Yarberry lodged a claim of foul against the winner but his complaint was a friv ¬ olous one when it was that the winner had carried him out at the head of the stretch No such thing had happened and the claim was not allowed
